The Story of Joan

The dream started 9 years ago to create a food truck that used fresh local produce to create innovative bbq style dishes and having the freedom to change and adapt for every event it would attend.  In addition to this having worked in catering for 20 years to have the freedom of not being stuck in a box out the back away from the customer you’re creating the food for and instead greating them face to face.

Project Joan (named after my dear grandmother) began when we purchased a rather beaten and battered Citroen H Van who was truly unique and basically rebuilt her from top to bottom including removing her roof to create more space inside. With the help of family & friends she slowly started to come together and become the food truck we know and love today. Check out our instagram as the photos really do speak a thousand words.

Its been one hell of an adventure so far and truly a story of blood, sweat & tears and one without our friends and family we would never have achieved so thank you once more you know who you are.

We are quite simply loving every minute of this journey…& now in 2019 we have this amazing group of diverse crazy people that form the bbq project team working together on both Joan & now Marcel, Joan’s baby brother & our second truck. We cant wait to see where his adventures take us as a Potato Based Food Truck, Nomad Potato.
